Finally innovation in maps
The beta of Yahoo! Maps is
great. It has the #1 feature I've been looking for in driving directions,
intermediate stops.
Now I can actually plan whole trips and even set
it up to go around roads I don't care to drive on and still get an estimated
time for the whole trip and all the directions on a single page. I'm not that
happy about using flash to do it, but at least they are generating urls in the
location bar to get me back to the map. Other things it has that I like include
Traffic and Send to Phone. Why Google decided that satellite maps, something
Yahoo had and threw away last year as nearly worthless, was innovation is beyond
me. Let's instead focus on getting people from one place to
another.
